Your at-home food costs seem low, especially if that includes food for your cat. How do you do it? Also I know you buy occasional running shoes and exercise gear but do you have a system of sorts for when you refresh essential clothing? Will you buy new winter boots/hats/gloves/scarves/sweaters/base layers or make do with what you have?
I buy my cat food in bulk every couple months so I didn’t buy any new this month, and I think my groceries are about $100/week, plus some extras for random household things like cleaning supplies as needed. Good question on refreshing clothing—I am starting to feel like going into the winter there might be a couple things I’ll replace. Nothing big, my coat from last year is great, but some new sweaters or other pieces. My apartment is pretty small and I only have one closet so that helps keep clothing costs down because I just don’t have room for that much more, lol. Also one thing I didn’t mention in my post is that I got a new skirt as a gift last week! I also try to do clothing swaps with a couple friends once we have a bag of clothes to donate, which helps keep clothing costs down
The $100/week for groceries is really an achievement… especially if that includes things like shampoo and soap, lotion. And I’m also super impressed that you aren’t always buying little things for the apartment, or upgrading linens, cookware, etc. Definitely a huge financial hit for me.
It does! Some of those extra things end up in the health or clothing/makeup budgets sometimes. I keep a lot of household costs down because my apartment is small and I live alone so I don’t go through things too quickly. And I’ve lived in this apartment for 2 years now, so I feel pretty settled as far as the decor
i'm in shock at how you were able to find a $6 latte!!! great reset btw, love reading these!
Thank you! And it was not in Manhattan haha 😅
I love Spicy Moon!!
