Great new series! Could you add the questions of age up-front, and also an estimate of their hourly wage based on how many hours they work? Might be nice to also know more on how they landed their NYC job. A heads up - there is a typo in your second question, should be “your” not “you.” Thank you!
love this series!! living here, especially those first 1-2 years post-grad feels SO overwhelming and isolating, in stark contrast to the 'go, go, go,' 'spend, spend, spend' culture of that time. love talking about this more broadly!
So agree!! There’s such a pressure (even now for me that I’m a few years out from college but more then) to not miss out and everything is so expensive
I am feeling shocked at these salaries for new grads with no work experience! Get it! 👏🏻
My starting salary in 2011 was $34K and I negotiated to $36 in Philadelphia. My title was also Marketing Manager.
I loved this — so helpful as someone planning a move to NYC in the next few months!
That’s so great to hear!! Good luck with your move!!

Love those additions! I’ll add those questions to future editions! And thanks for calling that out, I fixed the typo in the Substack post
Really enjoyed this post! Looking forward to more.
Thank you!
