Ooh I loved this Q&A post! I am always picking up change from the ground and that banknote you saw would have gone straight in my pocket, without hesitation! š Here in Ireland there is also a return scheme for empty plastic bottles and aluminium cans to get a bit of money back, so I pick those off the pavement, too because it's free money and I'm saving the environment!
Hell yes I would have picked that $20 bill up. Score! No hesitation. Although I would immediately look around to see if any potential owners were nearby that might have dropped it, i.e. someone who's fumbling with their pockets, a mom/dad struggling with kids, anyone who looks like they just passed by that spot. If not, then that bills does in my pocket and I get the biggest kick out of my day. I put it with all the other found money. Finding a penny even makes me feel like I found a fortune and it goes into the pile too.

My mom told me that any money found had to be donated, in case it carried bad spirit or karma.
Iāll pick up anything over $1, but will try to give that as a tip, or donation, or to a person in need
